Will the Upcoming Nike Epic React Ever Rule the World?

February 21, 2018

After the Air Max 270, Nike’s latest running shoe has arrived! Instead of the typical EVA foam, the Nike Epic React FlyKnit uses the latest technology called Nike React. The Nike technology is said to be lighter and softer than the Lunar Epic 2, and offers the greatest amount of energy return any Nike shoe has ever offered. It’s a level up from previous Nike technology. It will be available from February 22, 2018.

What is Nike React?

nike react

It debuted in 2017, inside the Nike React Hyperdunk and Jordan Super Fly. Unlike Adidas Boost or Under Armor’s HOVR tech or Puma’s “Jamming”, React is not licensed from another company. It is made in-house. This means you won’t see it used by any other brand. For that reason, we believe that the Nike React will be a more budget worthy shoe with a wider release than Boost.

The main characteristics of the React are its:

    • Cushioning
    • Lightweight
    • Durability
    • Energy return

Features of the Nike Epic React FlyKnit

On the Nike Epic React FlyKnit has a one-piece upper FlyKnit bootie. This makes it light and promotes breathability. It has a fits seamlessly, to take the form of your foot and offer support and comfort. For a lightweight shoe, it has a great impact on foot.

A single React unit makes up the entire midsole and outsole of the shoe. In addition, it mixes two different types of material, by adding some patches of rubber on the underfoot for better grip and traction.

So far, we’re seeing it in 4 different colorways: (1) College Navy, (2) White Racer Blue Pink Blast, (3) White Racer Blue, (4) Black Racer Blue. The first two colorways are releasing on February 22nd. The latter two colorways are exclusive for Nike Plus members.

Which brings us to the question, will Nike Epic React FlyKnit rule the world? Well, without a doubt it could land in the forefront of today’s running world. This technology could ultimately come face to face and challenge Boost.

The Nike Epic React is a comfortable choice with a decent price tag. Don’t be surprised when you see these being rocked in the street. Even by people who don’t typically wear sneakers.
