Nike Air Terra Forma – A Spicy Miami Launch!

Before we get to the actual pair, we gotta talk about the commemorative exhibit in Miami. Under the title of “The Codes c/o Architecture”, the exhibit is all about the Nike x Off-White partnership. In it, you could see sneakers and colorways that never got a public release. It also shows the creative process, or methodology, that Virgil used to do his designs. “Abloh’s Codes” are applicable across different mediums or products.

The exhibit took place in the Rubell Museum, Miami, from December 1 to 4, 2022. And one of the items on display was the Virgil-original Off-White Nike Air Terra Forma. This new silhouette kinda immortalizes the partnership between Nike and Virgil. The brands also confirmed that these babies are in fact gonna drop. So, what do we know about them so far?

The Looks of It

At first glance, the sneakers are a lot to take in. Since they’re winter-friendly, the kicks feature a high-top upper with a mix of materials like synthetics and suede. A translucent swoosh on the side panels is a must since it’s a Nike product at heart. But the stars of the show here are the tongues and the soles. The tongues are mismatched, and they feature the Off-White logo as well as the insoles.

Now, all the action goes on the sole level. The midsole features three different layers that include Air cushioning and Nike Air Inner Space tech. Meanwhile, rubber studs that we saw in previous collabs make an appearance on these babies. And finally, the outsoles feature the phrase “TREAD LIGHTLY” in all capitals. So all in all, the kicks are pretty eccentric, and they’re definitely collectibles if you won’t wear them.
