Our story today starts back in 1989 when Michael Jordan stepped out on the hardwood floor in a new silhouette. The silhouette in question was the Air Jordan 4. And the colorway he wore was the OG Jordan 4 Black Cement, aka Bred. So, this colorway featured an all-black nubuck upper with a grey/red outsole and red details. While these babies look pretty simple, they’re definitely a piece of Air Jordan’s history that we all love! In fact, the last retro that we got in 2019 is currently worth $546 on average resale.
So, the “Reimagined” treatment so far featured vintage-looking upgrades like the Jordan 3 White Cement and the Lost and Found 1s. However, this time the case is pretty different! The upcoming Jordan 4 Bred Reimagined looks the same as the OG… almost. You see, the only difference between the 2024 retro and the original colorway is the material. Instead of the original nubuck, we’ll get a leather treatment! And well, we do love us some leather to celebrate the silhouette’s 35th anniversary, right?
