In the early days of Nike, the Blazer was considered a basketball shoe. In fact, the Nike Blazer was Nike’s first take on a basketball shoe, even before basketball technology took off with the introduction of Air. It was also named after the company’s local basketball team, the Portland Trail Blazers.

However, after adding Air technology to new models, the Nike Blazer’s heavy but delicate material became less attractive to basketball players. Later, it found a new home among skateboarders in 2005, and especially in 2006 when skate cult brand, Supreme, collaborated with Nike on three Blazers.

The Nike Blazer sports a simple aesthetic with a bold Swoosh plastered across its sides that makes it a perfect shoe for Nike branding. The shoe was the host of many collaborations with different brands and artists such as the aforementioned Supreme, Hiroshi Fujiwara’s Fragment Design, Comme des Garcons, and most recently with Virgil Abloh’s Off White.

Off White excelled in its collaborations with Nike and Jordan Brand on The Ten in 2017. The man behind the unforgettable designs, Virgil Abloh, even became Louis Vuitton’s Artistic Director for Menswear in 2018. These consecutive successful years show no sign of failure in sight. Abloh is on a roll.

This year, both Nike and Virgil Abloh will be bringing us several different colorways of the Off White x Nike Blazer Studio. The shoe features a mixture of materials like mesh, leather, suede, rubber, and more.

At the exceptional price of $130, the 2017 Off White x Nike Blazer pair from The Ten is now selling for an average price of $900 on StockX. And that’s with saying that more will be dropping this year. As reported by sneaker leakers, retailers will only get 150-200 pairs of each sneaker.

In preparation for Halloween, we’re getting the Spooky Pack which includes two colorways. The first of those will be called, “Grim Reepers” and it will come in an all black colorway which an oversized white swoosh. The second one is the vanilla pair with an orange swoosh and it’s called, “All Hallows Eve”.
