We love it when sneakers take on the luxury world, and Jordan Brand is one of the best to do it! And today, we’re gonna talk about the brand’s boldest endeavors into that world: the Jordan Bin 23. What exactly is it? We’re gonna find out all about it, why it flopped, and how the 2026 return could be the line’s redemption arc! So, let’s dive into it all and tell you why you should be ready for this solid return, especially if you’re into collecting and reselling kicks.

What Is Jordan Bin 23?
Basically, the Jordan Bin 23 is a line by Jordan Brand, or sub-label, if you might. This line focuses on luxury, craftsmanship, high-end production, and storytelling! Now, what does the name mean? First off, “Bin” is a reference to winemaking; it’s the place where the wine is left to age. Second, 23 needs no explanation, because that’s the iconic number of MJ’s jersey! So basically, the idea here is that the Bin 23 Jordans are there to age like fine (and expensive) wine.
The sub-label’s drops featured premium materials, a limited number of pairs, and, of course, fancy packaging! Jordan Brand launched the line back in 2010, but unfortunately, it wasn’t really successful. Although it had lots of potential, the line didn’t kick off as you’d think it would. Now the question here is: Why wasn’t the line as successful as the brand expected?
Why Did Bin23 Flop?
Okay, we have to keep in mind that Jordan Bin 23 came out between 2010 and 2012. In a way, this line was way ahead of its time. Another reason it didn’t create such an impact was that the colorways that dropped weren’t OGs. The kicks that we got were Jordan 2, 5, 7, 9, and 13. And while the colorways were pretty cool, they weren’t as interesting for sneakerheads as the OG colorways were.
In addition to that, people were not willing to drop a big amount of money on sneakers. That’s especially true since people were still financially recovering from the 2008 crisis. Finally, Jordan Brand didn’t lean into the storytelling side of things as they have done in the past few years. But while the line wasn’t successful back then, these 5 colorways are something of a grail for many sneakerheads! In fact, the kicks are currently worth a lot of money on the resale market.
