Jordan 3 Animal Instinct 2.0 Is Slithering Its Way to Us!

Animal prints have always been a recurring fashion trend that the public and celebrities go to every once in a while! So what happens when the sneaker industry jumps on the bandwagon? We get a pair of kicks like the Air Jordan 3 Animal Instinct pack. Although we always love seeing classics like the Game Royal AJ1s, we still like some unusual kicks like the upcoming Chunky Dunky!

Air Jordan 3 Animal Instinct Vol.1

This first part of the Animal Instinct pack dropped in December 2019. The Air Jordan 3 Animal Instinct in its first edition featured a literally wild upper. It consists of faux pony hair, and a mix of wild animal prints like zebras, leopards, and tigers. The whole colorway was very different and, at first sight, shocking.

The kicks dropped on December 19, 2019, and retailed for $225. However, if you wanna own a pair of the Jordan 3 Animal Instinct, now is the time to shop! The kicks are actually reselling for lower than the original retail price!

Jordan 3 Animal Instinct Hits Again

Although the first edition wasn’t exactly a success, we have a feeling this pair will do better! The upper even looks better with all the reptilian prints and textures. The upper features crocodile skin, snakeskin, and the famous elephant print! Moreover, the green and yellow colors paint a pretty cool jungle-inspired picture, if you’re into abstracts anyway.

The kicks were initially dropping on May 23, 2020, but they’re not anymore! The release was postponed till June 6th. Air Jordan 3 Animal Instinct 2.0 will retail for $225 just like the previous edition. The kicks currently resell starting $400, up to $650! So what are you waiting for? 

History of the Animal Prints and Nike!

The elephant print is not actually a new venture by Nike. The first time the elephant print was introduced was by Tinker Hatfield at MJ’s request. The result was the sexy OG Air Jordan 3 in 1988! The same print reappeared later on the iconic Supreme x Nike SB Dunk Low Cement pack. However, that definitely wasn’t the last time we saw it. In fact, they used the cement print so much it reached overkill level!

Other animal prints and textures are not new either. I mean, the snakeskin on Jordan 4 Pinnacle is pretty obvious. And we definitely remember the Air Jordan 4 x Olivia Kim and the all-black pony hair upper. So really, the Air Jordan 3 Animal Instinct pack should’ve been called “What The” Jungle pack.
